Meet the Team




Maryam Ashraf

President

Maryam is a current 3L at the University of Calgary. Before law school, she graduated from University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in International Business. As president of the Club, Maryam is dedicated to revitalizing club initiatives and promote tech law within the study body. Outside of school, she enjoys hiking, trying new restaurants with friends and spending time with family.

 

Hannah Caldwell

VP Finance

Hannah is a current 3L at the University of Calgary. Before law school, she graduated from Mount Royal University with a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Anthropology and a minor in Religious Studies. She worked as a Summer intern with the BLG Business Venture Clinic and brings her expertise in working with startups and entrepreneurs to the Club. During her time outside of school, Hannah enjoys spending time with her dog and hiking in the mountains!

Arshnoor Tung

Editor, VP Communications

Arshnoor is currently a 3L at the University of Calgary. Prior to law school, she graduated from University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with Honours. Arshnoor served as a content contributor in 1L and is excited to be running the blog this year. Arshnoor is particularly interested in the intersection of artificial intelligence and intellectual property law. Outside of school, Arshnoor enjoys running and ran her first half marathon this year.

Randall Lien

VP Marketing

Randall is currently a 3L at the University of Calgary. Prior to law school, he obtained a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Analytics from the University of Calgary. Randall is excited to use his creativity to bring life to the Tech Law Club’s Socials. Randall has been actively involved on Campus through PBSC and the Business Law Association. Through his coursework in IP Law and Internet Law, Randall hopes to apply his knowledge to support the club’s initiatives. Outside of school, Randall enjoys running, pilates and golf.

Kayla DeAngelis

VP Events

Kayla is currently a 1L at the University of Calgary. Prior to law school, she obtained a dual degree in Health Sciences and Business Administration from Western University. Kayla worked as part of the strategy team at T-CAIREM Temerty Centre of AI Research and Education in Medicine at the University of Toronto. Kayla is interested in several emerging areas of technology law, including cybersecurity, data privacy and artificial intelligence. Fun fact, Kayla has recently started pilates!
